Create Event Panel Help

This guide covers creating new events in the system, including all required fields, sport selection, and configuration options.

Introduction

The Create Event panel is the starting point for adding new events to the system. You must provide basic details such as name, date, location, and sport discipline. After creation, you can configure advanced settings, scoring, participants, and more. Only users with appropriate administrative roles can create events.

  • Event Name: Enter the official name of your event (required field).
  • Sport Discipline: Select the sport using dropdown or visual tile browser (required).
  • Event Date: Set the date when the event will take place (required).
  • Location: Specify venue or city for the event (required).
  • Registration Deadline: Optional last date for participant registration.
  • Description: Optional brief info, rules, or notes about the event.
  • Quick Setup Guide: View recommended next steps after creation.

What fields are required to create an event?
Event Name, Sport Discipline, Event Date, and Location are required. Registration Deadline and Description are optional.
How do I select a sport?
Use the dropdown to select a sport, or click Browse tiles to open the sport picker modal for visual selection.
What happens after I create an event?
You will be redirected to the event edit page to configure advanced settings, scoring, participants, and more.
Can I skip optional fields?
Yes. Registration Deadline and Description are optional and can be added or edited later.
What if I make a mistake?
You can edit all event details after creation. Changes can be made until the event is finalized.
Why can't I see my sport in the list?
Sports are loaded from the figures database. Use Manage sports to add new sports if needed.
How do I use the sport tile browser?
Click "Browse tiles" to open a visual modal with sport icons and names for easier selection.
Can I create multiple events at once?
No, events must be created individually. Each event requires specific details and configuration.

  • Form not submitting: Check that all required fields are filled. Error messages will appear below invalid fields.
  • Sport not selectable: Use the tile browser or verify the sport is active in the figures database.
  • Date picker not working: Ensure JavaScript is enabled. Try typing the date manually in YYYY-MM-DD format.
  • Redirect not working: Check that your browser allows redirects and popups for this site.
